After a successful 2021/22 season, the Dons have, in addition to the new contract signed by Ashlee Hincks and the signings of Mia Lockett, Emma Plewa, and Billie Brooks, also as of yet retained 16 players from last season’s squad.
Below they are listed in alphabetical order, from goalkeepers to forwards.
We have had the great fortune of retaining goalkeepers Lauren-Amie Allen and Faye Baker, who together with our defenders made sure we had the second best defensive record in the league last season.
In defence, we’ll see Hannah Billingham captain the side in her 7th season with the club. Kelly Highman, who has been known to score some game changing goals, has also signed up for the 2022/23 season.
AFC Wimbledon Girls graduates Emily Oliver and Rosie Russell joins the list with our longest serving player, Becky Sargent, and Sarah Wentworth, who is making a return from an ACL injury.
Midfielder Molly Childerhouse, who was on loan from Oxford last season, is staying for her first full season with the Dons. Energetic and technical Emily Donovan will continue to grace the central midfield. So will assertive Steph Mann – who never stops running.
Also retained are athletic attacking midfielder Megan Stow, and composed Amy Taylor, who can also play as a defender.
Up front we’ll again be seeing Rebecca Carter, who’s partial to lobbing a goalkeeper or two. As previously reported, we’ve also retained league top goal scorer Ashlee Hincks. Chloe Sampson will continue to bring lots of energy and excellent ball control to the team. Technical Hungary U19 International Gloria Siber has also been retained.
The 2022/23 season will be an exciting one. To see the players’ own thoughts on staying with the club – check out our Instagram Story Highlights.
