Becki Bath is our most recent Don

We’re delighted to confirm our fifth signing of the summer, Becki Bath.

Becki joins AFC Wimbledon Women’s First team from AFC Bournemouth, where she was their top goal scorer and league golden boot winner last season. She scored 15 goals in just 17 games. Before playing for Bournemouth, she was also the top goal scorer for Portsmouth in the Covid-curtailed 2020/21 season.

When announcing the signing, manager Kevin Foster said

Becki understands the national league and has always scored goals and added assists wherever she has played her football. She’s energetic, lively and given half a space she’ll look to strike and score goals.

Becki, alongside our other summer signings Ellie Dorey, Emma Plewa and Mia Lockett,  have added strength and depth to Kevin Foster forward options this season. Paired with the retention of prolific striker Ashlee Hincks, along with Gloria Siber, Chloe Sampson and Rebecca Carter, means there will be no shortage of goals this season for Wimbledon. There has never been a better time to come and support us and watch some really exciting high quality football.

Ellie Dorey signs for AFC Wimbledon Women’s First Team

The Dons are delighted to confirm yet another signing this summer as Ellie Dorey joins the team.

Ellie comes from FA Women’s Championship side Charlton Athletic. She’s been training with the Dons for a few weeks, and scored an impressive brace in the preseason fixture against Dulwich Hamlet.

Manager Kevin Foster said

Ellie brings us a real threat from out wide, and also has the ability to play through the middle and rotate. She had an excellent game against Dulwich and we’re really looking forward to watching her this season.

Ellie Dorey started her career with Brighton & Hove Albion. At Charlton she helped the club establish themselves in the Championship, being a near ever present in the Covid-19 affected 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

Billie Brooks is the Dons’ third summer signing

We are delighted to announce the signing of Billie Brooks ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Central defender Billie has already spent the early stages of pre-season training with the Dons. She also joined the line-up in several of the pre-season games, including the double header against Ipswich.

Billie has extensive playing experience having previously been at Millwall, London Bees and most recently Harlow where the defender scored 5 goals in 25 games last season. She has come through the ranks at Arsenal and has represented England as a youth international.

When announcing the signing manager Kevin Foster said

Billie has been in with us a few weeks and fitted in with the group really well. She reads the game well, strong in the air, and gives us a strong passing range from the defence. We look forward to seeing her during the season.

Billie Brooks becomes the Dons third signing of the summer after the announcements of Emma Plewa and Mia Lockett.

Mia Lockett signs for the Dons

We are delighted to announce the signing of Mia Lockett ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Mia spent last season at Billericay helping them achieve promotion. The 20-year-old has also previously played at Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

Reacting to the signing manager Kevin Foster said:

“She has been in with us for a few weeks now. She is one of those wide players who is at you constantly, never giving full backs a chance to breathe or get a second to play. She’s tenacious and there’s a bit of quality to what she does as well so really looking forward to seeing her [play]”

Upon joining the Dons Mia Lockett said:

“I’m thrilled to be here, I knew about Wimbledon before I came to the club so I’m pleased to be here and play my football and be happy”

Mia Lockett

Mia is so far the second signing of the summer after Emma Plewa. Both signings speak volumes of manager Kevin Foster’s aim to push for promotion this season.

Emma Plewa signs for AFC Wimbledon

We’re delighted to announce our first signing of the new season, as Welsh international Emma Plewa joins the team.

Manager Kevin Foster spoke about what he believes she will bring to the squad:

“She’s brilliant, she comes with a lot of credentials and a lot of experience which is what we are looking for. She has played at Chelsea, Crawley in Tier 3, at Charlton in the Championship […] I’m sure she will be that exciting player out wide that we need. She scores goals, she’s direct, she’s strong and we are looking forward to seeing her going.”

Kevin Foster

Emma played for Crawley Wasps last season, and has previously donned the shirts of Bristol Academy, Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspurs, Millwall Lionesses and Lewes. She also has 20 caps for Wales.

“I spoke to Kevin and everything he’s talking about for now and in the future is really positive. I know a few of the girls as well and they have always spoken really highly of the project and where the club is going. It just seems like a very professional set up and something I’d like to be a part of.”

Emma Plewa

Emma Plewa will be in action throughout the preseason, and for the start of the season on 21 August.

Ashlee Hincks signs!

We are delighted to announce the new signing of Ashlee Hincks from Crystal Palace. Ashlee brings a wealth of experience having played for Chelsea and Millwall in the WSL and Championship.

We would like to welcome Ashlee and we look forward to kicking off the new season.

The former Crystal Palace player has represented England at all youth levels and has played in two FA Cup finals –  one with Chelsea. Upon Hincks’ return to England, Millwall Lionesses secured her services for three seasons, which resulted in the club’s highest ever finish (3rd) in the WSL2 (Champsionship), as well as going unbeaten for 19 games. Ashlee won Player of the Year in her first season at the club , which also saw the striker with end the campaign as top scorer.

Ashlee most recently at Crystal palace was Utilita Ladies Player of the Season for the 2018/19 campaign

Ashlee Hincks said “A club with real ambition that is doing things the right way. I cannot wait to get started and continue to push the club in the direction they’re heading. Over the moon to have signed.”

David Growns, Ladies Chair said “ Kevin Foster, our first team manager, has worked hard to get Ashlee here. She is a fantastic addition to the squad and I look forward to seeing her in action wearing a Wimbledon shirt”
